ProSupps Hyperbolic Reviews Brian E. May 21, 2013 Carbohydrate Supplement Reviews, Intra-Workout Reviews, Post-Workout Reviews, Pre-Workout Reviews, Reviews ProSupps is in the midst of launching some pretty promising supplements. We have already reviewed a few of their supplements – Karbolic, i-Focus, Mr Hyde, and TC-F Isolate. Their newest product, Hyperbolic, should be out pretty soon – and I really can’t wait to get my hands on it. What is Hyperbolic? ProSupps Hyperbolic is an intra-workout supplement that contains ingredients that will help keep your body anabolic (building muscle, increasing strength, burning fat and improving recovery time) during and after workouts. If you have had the chance to read any of our other ProSupps reviews, you will see some commonalities between all their products. They don’t hold anything back and they only include the best ingredients possible. Hyperbolic contains Karbolic (you can read our Karbolic review here) with its patented Pterosport Technology, a high performance amino matrix and a proprietary oxygen and insulin delivery complex. Let’s take a closer look at these ingredients. Hyperbolic Ingredients Karbolic ProSupps Karbolic is a pre- and post-workout carbohydrate drink. Carbohydrate drinks are a quick source of fuel to help you power through your workouts without getting fatigued. Drinking a carb drink post-workout provides quick glycogen replenishment. The key ingredient in Karbolic is Pterosport, which is a “scientifically proven ratio of stilbenoids that have been proven to enhance the synthesis of anti-oxidants and carbohydrates. These stilbenoids are Resveratrol, Pterostilbene, Piceatannol, and Piceid.”[1] Hyperbolic Amino Matrix Hyperbolic also contains an advanced, high-performance amino matrix which contains 5 grams of L-Leucine and 5 grams of Glutamine which help you with post-workout recovery and has been shown to preven muscle breakdown before, during or after training. Research shows that glutamine supplements help maintain muscle mass by preventing protein breakdown and improving glycogen synthesis thereby increasing muscle glycogen stores. [2] O2 and Insulin Delivery Complex Hyperbolics O2 and Insulin Delivery Complex contains the following ingredients that have been proven to enhance the uptake and delivery of essential nutrients to your muscles: Beta Alanine – Beta alanine is a nonessential amino acid. This means it can be produced by the body whereas essential amino acids are acquired from food. Beta alanine combines with the essential amino acid histidine to create carnosine, which is found in high concentrations in brain and muscle tissue. Increasing carnosine concentration in the muscle tissue has been shown in numerous human studies to increase strength, muscular endurance and muscle mass. L-Norvaline – L-Norvaline is an amino acid that almost eliminates the body’s ability to limit Nitric Oxide production. Norvaline limits Arginase, an enzyme that interrupts NO synthesis by breaking down Arginine in the body. Norvaline binds to and inhibits Arginase, increasing Arginine levels, thereby increasing NO. Citrulline Malate – L-Citrulline is an amino acide that when ingested is converted to Arginine. Arginine is a will known nitric oxide booster. Adding L-Citrulline to your supplement plan can improve the nitric oxide production, and deliver more oxygen to the working muscle tissues. In a recent study performed on basketball players Citrulline Malate significantly improved aerobic performance [3]. Another study showed again that Citrulline benefits athletes by increasing aerobic energy production. Studies show subjects using Citrulline have an increase in the rate of muscle ATP production during exercise and greater phosphocreatine recovery after exercise. So taking Citrulline Malate may result in muscles that can keep on going and going… giving you the energy you need to blast through intense workouts! Betaine Anhydrous – Betaine Anhydrous is a compound that is extracted from beetroot juice. A recent Human performance study involving betaine found it increases power and force performance in trained individuals. Another larger study concluded betaine aided in high intensity anaerobic training, allowing individuals to achieve more squat repetitions at 75% of their 1-RM with more repetitions achieved at =90% peak power. Vitamin B6 Inosine – Inosine provides a safe and effective way to enable the body to utilize oxygen more efficiently. The result is greater strength, energy and stamina and simultaneous promotion of lean body weight. Inositol Nicotinate – Inositol Nicotinate is a “flush-free” form of niacin. Niacin aids in maintaining proper metabolic functioning, supporting energy metabolism as well as carbohydrate and protein metabolism. Chromium Polynicotinate – Chromium is an essential trace element that plays a role in blood sugar metabolism by enhancing insulin’s effects and assisting in the thousands of necessary chemical reactions that occur in your body. Some studies have also suggested that it may help you gain muscle and lose fat. A study on 20 overweight women found that taking chromium polynicotinate contributed to more fat loss with less muscle loss. The group lost 84% body fat and 16% muscle, while the control group lost 92% muscle and only 8% fat. 4-Hydroxyisoleucine – 4-hydroxyisoleucine (a form of the amino acid, isoleucine) has been found to have insulogenic or insulin potentiating effects. Studies done on training athletes given the supplement 4-hydroxyisoleucine with a glucose beverage was found to increase glucose and insulin concentrations (within the muscles) after exercise, as well as re-synthesize glycogen more effectively than glucose alone. Di-Potassium Phosphate – Di Potassium Phosphate is a salt form of Phosphate which is recognized for its high bio-availability. Phosphates are known to play vital roles in the metabolism of energy within both aerobic and anaerobic exercise. ProSupps Hyperbolic Serving Size and Flavors Hyperbolic hasn’t been released yet, but on the ProSupps website, only one flavor is listed – Fruit Punch. I expect them to release flavors that are similar to Karbolic – Orange Burst, Strawberry and Unflavored. When Should You Take Hyperbolic? According to ProSupps, mix 1 to 2 scoops with at least 10 to 20 oz. of water. Drink before, during and after your workout. Pre-Workout: Consume 1 serving 1 hour before workout with any pre workout of your choice. Within 30-45 minutes your veins will be surging with necessary muscle building nutrients to ensure an anabolic/anti-catabolic state in the gym. Intra-Woprkout: Consume 1 serving DURING your workout to capitalize on increased blood flow to the muscle. During your workout is the ideal opportunity to feed pharmaceutical grade free form L Leucine, glutamine and glycogen to super-saturate muscle cells. A pumped muscle is the ideal opportunity to deliver up to 20 times the normal amount of anabolic/anti-catabolic nutrients into the muscle cells. Post-Workout: After your workout, hit your body with 1 more serving and refuel your amino acids, ATP and glycogen stores to maximize recovery and maintain a rich anabolic state. ProSupps Hyperbolic Final Thoughts I haven’t had a chance to try Hyperbolic, so I can’t comment on its flavor. When it hits stores, I will grab some samples and see how it effects my training. This is one man’s opinion. What really matters is how well Hyperbolic works for all of you. Please use our form below to share what your experiences have been with Hyperbolic. Please include other product(s) you have used, side effects, benefits, dosage, and let us all know if you think it is a good value or not.
