BPI KETO-XT Reviews Brian E. May 17, 2013 Appetite Suppressant Reviews, Fat Burner Supplements Reviews, Reviews So, you are taking a fat loss supplement and you are learning (the hard way) that you are sensitive to stimulants. They give you lots of energy sure, but then you crash, or you can’t sleep, or feel anxious and nauseous. I’ve been there. There is such a thing as being “over-stimulated”. Toss in a stimulant filled pre-workout supplement, a few cups of coffee and you are nearing 1 gram of caffeine! Because there are tons of stimulants in lots of dietary supplements, like a pre-workout supplement, many people are turning to stimulant-free weight loss supplements, like KETO-XT from BPI Sports. In this KETO-XT review, we will discuss some of its hightlights, go into detail about its ingredients and see if there is any research out there that links these ingredients to anything related to losing weight. What is KETO-XT? KETO-XT is the newest stimulant-free fat burner and appetite suppressant from BPI Sports. On the official site, BPI states that KETO-XT is a weight loss supplement with “FEEL IT NOW™ technology” [1]. It isn’t too hard to figure out what that means. As soon as you take a serving of KETO-XT you begin feeling it go to work. The ingredients in KETO-XT are there to attack fat by increasing thermogenesis, body temperature and metabolic rate. All of KETO-XT’s ingredients are researched based. The sports supplement industry is packed with a ton of fat burners and weight loss supplements. Not many of them can say that they are researched based. BPI has always used the best ingredients in their supplements. Let’s take a look at what KETO-XT has to offer us! KETO-XT Ingredients & Research Since KETO-XT is stimulant-free, you won’t find any sort of caffeine, coffee bean, guarana, yohimbe or green tea. What you will find is a slew of impressive all-natural ingredients that are essential in helping you lose weight. CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) – CLA, the “good trans fat”, is an isomers of linoleic acid which belongs to the family of essential fatty acids. Studies show that it can speed up fat-burning mechanisms while blocking the growth of fat cells. Take CLA as a dietary supplement has been shown to decrease abdominal fat, increase metabolic rate and enhance muscle growth among other things [2]. Acetyl L-Carnitine – Carnitine is an amino acid whos function is to facilitate the transport and metabolism of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for beta-oxidation and energy generation. The way that it’s been explained to me is that L-Carinitine will allow your body to keep on using fat stores as energy which in turn spares your muscle glycogen and enhances exercise performance [3]. White Kidney Bean – White kideny bean extract is one of natures best carb blockers. It works by not allowing your body to digest starches. This means that your body will not absorb the calories associated with those starches. Human studies done on white kidney bean have shown fat loss [4][5]. Raspberry Ketone – Raspberry Ketone is what gives raspberry’s their sweet smell. Unfortunately sweet smells don’t help you lose weight. What raspberry ketones do is they decrease the absorption of dietary fat and increasing norepinephrine-induced lipolysis [6]. Nomame – Nomame (Cassia nomame) is a medicinal herb native to China is reportedly used to increase urine flow. Back in 2000 a study was performed to see what anti-obesity effects Nomame had when used in a high-fat diet. The study concluded that Nomame is effective in preventing and ameliorating obesity, fatty liver and hypertriglyceridemia [7]. Shantung Maple Extract – The Shantung Maple, or Acer truncatum extract is a natural inhibitor of fatty acid synthase. A recent study was done on the effect that fatty acid synthase inhibitors have on food intake. The results of the study showed that food intake was rapidly (within 1 hour) and almost completely blocked. Suppression of food intake persisted for at least 24 hours, at which point there was a 96% reduction relative to that of control subjects [8]. Ginger Root – Ginger plays many important roles. Whether you are pregnant and suffering from morning sickness, ginger can help reduce nausea. But when it comes to weight loss taking a ginger supplement can play an important role. In a 2012 study about the thermic effect ginger has on food showed that ginger enhanced thermogenesis and reduced feelings of hunger [9]. Saffron Extract – Saffron is commonly used as a cooking spice, but it has recently gained popularity as a powerful ingredient for weight loss supplements. Saffron extract has been shown to curb appetite, reduce cravings and even increase serontin levels in the brain which help you regulate your mood and prevent compulsive eating. Back in 2010 a study of 60 healthy, mildly overweight women took either a saffron-containing supplement or a placebo every day for eight weeks. No changes to the participants diets were made. The study showed that the group of women taking saffron extract experienced a significantly greater decrease in snacking and a significantly greater reduction in body weight than the placebo group [10]. Cocoa Extract – Cocoa Extract is one of natures greatest sources of polyphenols. Research suggest that polyphenols in cocoa may increase your metabolism resulting in faster burning of calories. Although it sounds too good to be true, this study is just one among several that highlights cocoa’s intriguing role in weight management [11]. In another study conducted by the Hershey Center for Nutrition and Health and the Pennsylvania State University researchers linked cocoa extract with weight loss. Researchers of this study believe that cocoa induces weight loss by inhibiting various digestive enzymes from doing their job. The more cocoa extract you consume, the greater the effect it has on these enzymes, resulting in more effective weight loss [12]. This doesn’t mean that you should go out and throw back some king size candy bars and expect to lose weight. Stick to cocoa extract that is found in diet supplements if you want to lose weight.
