MegaTron by SAN Nutrition is a stimulant-free pre-workout designed to enhance muscle pumps. More blood flow to the muscles means optimal muscle function and nutrient delivery, which means great gains.

I happen to really like muscle-pump supplements, so I was excited to try out MegaTron to see if it delivered.

What’s Inside MegaTron?

Turns out there are 3 matrices in MegaTron: Pump + Vaso Vol + Endurance Support Matrix, Nitric Oxide Fatigue Fighting Support Matrix, and V02 Max Support Matrix.

I won’t bore you and run through 15+ ingredients; however, I do want to brief over some of the key components of SAN MegaTron.

Citrulline malate is often referred to as a pump ingredient, and is a ubiquitous ingredient in pre-workouts because of its ability to improve nitric oxide production [1], which means improved blood flow.

B-Alanine (CarnoSyn) is a patented beta-alanine, an ingredient used by many bodybuilders to improve muscle function during high-intensity training.

Glycerol monostearate is often supplemented with to help improve intra-muscular fluid in an effort to increase muscle size.

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine offers antioxidant support [2], and L-Carnitine L-Tartrate is supplemented with to improve hormonal responses to resistance exercise and improve recovery.

Taste, Mixability, and Availability

San MegaTron comes in a watermelon flavor, and each bottle providing 30 servings.

I mixed one scoop with about 8 ounces of water and the flavor was good. I didn’t notice any bitterness or weird after tastes as is common with several pre-workout supplements. If you like stronger flavors, I would recommend using less water, probably around 6 ounces. Overall, it wasn’t a bad tasting supplement.

Mixability was decent. I used a shaker cup and shook it for about 10 seconds. I didn’t notice any clumps or anything; however, I did notice some settling shortly after shaking it.

Surprisingly, SAN MegaTron availability is limited. It isn’t sold in several big online supplement retailers.  One bottle retails for about $40, with the best price I saw being $33.

How Should You Use SAN MegaTron?

I took one scoop about 30 minutes prior to working out and noticed some good muscle pumps. I train higher volume, and love focusing on pumping my muscles with blood. Some people may notice benefits by taking MegaTron closer to workout time, like 15 minutes before.

You’ll need to experiment to see what works best for you. Suffice to say, I did notice some vascular benefits and my muscles looked fuller immediately post-workout while using this supplement.

Final Thoughts

MegaTron is a good muscle pump supplement. For those looking to increase blood flow, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this before working out. For those looking to get amped up and energized with caffeine and other stimulants, this won’t do that for you.

You should be able to stack this with a caffeine supplement, though I didn’t try that. But, if you are needing to buy a separate pre-workout to stack with MegaTron, that could get a little pricey.
