Iso HD is advertised as an ultra-premium, ultra-pure whey protein isolate supplement that has an “unrivaled” taste. I took a closer look at absolutely everything there is to know about ISO HD BPI. Flavor, Availability, & Mixability ISO HD BPI’s flavor options are quite refreshing, especially compared to several competing protein supplements that offer only regular chocolate and vanilla. The manufacturer put a spin on the traditional chocolate and vanilla flavors and offers a couple other flavors as well: Vanilla Cookie Chocolate Brownie Cookies and Cream Banana Cream Pie I only got to try the cookies and cream flavor, and it was pretty good. I preferred to mix 1 scoop with 8 ounces of water, which is 2 ounces more than the recommended amount, just because I am not a huge fan of strong flavored supplements. That was the perfect amount of liquid for me, and it was definitely a refreshing taste with little to no after-taste. The cookies and cream flavor mixability was about the same as every protein supplement I’ve ever tried. There were small clumps, but I was able to break them up for the most part by shaking it for about 20 seconds. As far as sizing goes, ISO HD BPI comes in both a 1.6 lb. (23 servings) and a 5 lb. (70 servings) container. The smaller tub retails for about $39.99, and the 5 lb. container retails for around $60.00 What’s Inside ISO HD? One serving of ISO HD provides 25 g of whey protein isolate and whey protein hydrolysate. Hydrolyzed whey protein is broken down even smaller to optimize absorption rate. Whey protein isolate and whey protein hydrolysate would be great options for those that may be sensitive to lactose or often experience bloating cramping and bloating from whey protein concentrate. Apart from the whey protein content, ISO HD also offers 5 grams of naturally occurring branched-chain amino acids. It’s important to mention as well that in one serving, there is only 120 calories and 2 grams of carbohydrates, making this a fairly lean protein source. Should You Consider ISO HD? ISO HD is definitely a good protein powder, with its low calorie, low carbohydrates, and 25 g of protein, but it doesn’t strike me as anything uniquely special. However, it shouldn’t be counted out when considering protein supplements. Consequently, for those looking to maintain weight or even burn fat while weight lifting, ISO HD may be of particular interest, especially considering its highly filtered protein that is stomach-friendly. The price-to-serving ratio is on par with most competitive protein brands.
